When TJ reached out to me about a sunrise maternity session in Aiken, South Carolina, let me tell ya, I was ecstatic. Not only because we grew up attending ALL of the same schools K-Undergrad, or because their baby boy was going to be named Clark (GREAT name), but because I have such respect for him and his beautiful wife who I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know more during our session! It’s so funny to see your childhood friends grow up and start their own families. Part of me feels like we’re still those same kids who played tag at recess, but I don’t doubt for a second that TJ and Madalyn aren’t equipped to make the best parents, and it was such a joy working with them to capture the start of their new journey in life!

When going back and forth on locations for their maternity session, TJ mentioned that his parents owned a plot of land in our childhood town of Aiken, SC. I knew, before even seeing it, that it would be so perfect and meaningful, but when I laid eyes on all of the different locations, I was set on their session taking place there. It is absolutely STUNNING…just see for yourself.

I mentioned it several times during the session, but Madalyn takes “pregnancy glow” to a whole different level. She is drop dead gorgeous! And can we also just talk about how beautifully dressed they were? They mentioned that they found the style guide helpful and it made my little planning soul so happy! It’s always a great feeling when you can serve your clients well and make them feel prepared for their session.

You guys are such a sweet couple. I can see how loved baby Clark will be because of the way you so effortlessly love each other! You’re both every photographer’s dream clients. A sunrise session in the south in 80+ degree weather is no joke, and you two handled it so elegantly! I just laugh thinking about how sweaty I was behind the camera, and how you wouldn’t even be able to tell it was a muggy morning for how perfect you look.

Thank you you for allowing me the honor of documenting this magical time in your lives! I can’t wait to see all the many things ahead for you as a family of 3. Cheers to baby Clark! I can’t wait to see how precious he is.

This location gave me all the childhood-home vibes. I think it was the tire swing, but how lovely is that sunrise peeping through the tree? I could’ve easily spent hours at this spot!
