It’s not every day you get the chance to work with such naturals in front of the camera, and I’ll be the first to say that the Caniglias were just that! Their family maternity session which started at the beautiful Hopelands Gardens in Aiken, SC was nothing short of perfection. You wouldn’t have even known that the weather was threatening us with big dark rain clouds overhead, or that it was a muggy 85+ degree southern day, because of how vibrant and comfortable they all looked together.

We rounded out their session with solo portraits of Brittany at my studio in Aiken, SC. Studio photography has become one of my favorite things lately. Not only is the studio temperature controlled (IYKYK, southern heat), but it provides a stunning backdrop for classic and timeless portraits. Can we just take a second to soak in the beauty of this lady right here? She is a vision in this black lace gown and I love the contrast of the black with the softness of her glowy skin!!

It was such an honor to spend the evening preserving this season of life with Brittany, Josh, and Sebastian. This is such an exciting time as they prepare for another sweet baby boy, and getting to learn more about them filled my heart with so much joy. The kindness and patience they have for one another was so present in the way they talked to each other and their son. I can already see how this trio will thrive with their newest arrival. But I’m so, SO eager to witness it for myself during their newborn session planned in the fall.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting me document this time in your lives. I don’t take this opportunity of mine lightly. I hope you know how grateful I am to be freezing this stage of life forever. You two are the best parents, and I can tell through Sebastian’s contagious joy. Baby number two is going to be the luckiest son and baby brother ever!
